Course content
One of the seminars focuses on the history of ancient Egypt, the other on the most important phenomenons which influenced the later development of the world (democracy, architecture, sculpture, theatre and drama, religion and mythology, Romans in Central Europe, antique tradition in Olomouc). Courses also focus on the analysis of the basic literature and historical sources. PZ

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the history of ancient Egypt and with important processes in ancient society which influenced the later development of the world. Students will obtain the ability to analyze and interpret basic sources and literature related to this topic. PZ

Assessment methods and criteria
Essay, Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary)

Active class participation, review, presentation about history of one of Near East countries, review on one book about ancient Greece history, successful written examination of the knowledge of ancient history. PZ
