Course content
|
24th September 2014(an exact date will be specified at History Department´s website) in a seminar room of Archival Science: Information meeting for students interested in this course (organisation, necessary equipment, study materials), rules for cataloguing music sheets. Friday 24th October 2014 from 12:00: Theoritical introduction, rules for cataloguing music sheets, explaining of basic things and work with a database programme running in Microsoft Access. In the evening, there will be individual work of catalogued material. Saturday and Sunday 25th and 26th October 2014: Cataloguing of music sheets, the final evaluation on Sunday. According the the possibilities, work will be enriched by excursion to one of Olomouc organs on Friday or Saturday. HF

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of three-day seminar (a longer weekend at the beg. of December 2014)is to teach students to catalogue hand-written and printed music sheets from 18th-20th century. After the basic introduction into a catalogued fund and the sacred Czech music from the 17th to the 20th century (a meeting in November 2014), students will be acquainted with sources. On those exmaples, they will be taught basic rules of cataloguing music sheets and work with a database programme, in which they will later work themselves. According the the possibilities, work will be enriched by excursion to one of Olomouc organs. The course was established under the terms of the project Innovation of Historical Sciences Studies at Palacký University, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0025. HF

Prerequisites
|
12 students from Bachelor studies of single and double History programme: a course B, for the others: a course C (with the exception of students of Archival Science who cannot participate the course. There are no prerequisities for this seminar, the knowledge of modern Latin paleography is the advantage. HF
