Course content
The content of lectures is to acquaint students with basic knowledge of diplomatics, sphragistics, heraldry, historical chronology and metrology including basic handbooks and terminology. The content of seminars is to teach students to read and transcribe Czech texts written in a neo-gothic scrip. Then, the attention will be given to blazonry of coat of arms, a description of seals and a conversiob of historical dates, measures and weights. HF

Learning outcomes
The aim of lectures is to acquaint students with basic knowledge of diplomatics, sphragistics, heraldry, historical chronology and metrology including basic handbooks and terminology. There be will selected especially information, which students can use for an art-historical research. The aim of seminars is to teach students to read and transcribe Czech texts written in a neo-gothic script. Then, the attention will be given to blazonry of coat of arms, a description of seals and a conversiob of historical dates, measures and weights. HF

There are no prerequisities except for previous attending the course Auxiliary historical sciences - art history 1. HF

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Student performance

Active class participation. Credit requirements: passing a credit test = a transcription of a Czech text written in a neo-Gothic script and a blazonry of a coat of arms and a conversion of dates. A colloquium: a description of a manuscript, an inscription or a seal HF
