Course content
The main content of the course are lectures and seminars on annually selected topic related to History of Antiquity or classical traditions of the Czech Republic or possibly Greek and latin language in Antiquity or later periods. Selected topics are connected with many fields of study such as history, philosophy, literature, law, archival science, art history, lingvistics or archaeology.

Learning outcomes
The goal of the course is a participation in the Summer School of Classical Studies that is annualy organized at the biginning of July (usually for five days) by the Institute of Classical Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Praque in cooperation with another institute or university aimed at classical philology, history, philosophy, archival science or art history.
The broaden knowledge of various topic related to fields of study such as classical philology, history, philosophy, archival science or art history. To deepen knowledge of work with written sources because a part of the Summer School of Classical Studies is also reading, translation and interpretation of written sources in Greek and Latin.

Noprevious presuppositions.

Assessment methods and criteria
Dialog, Seminar Work

Credit requirements: active class participation in seminars and lectures of the Summer School o Classical Studies. Colloquium requirements: discussion about a paper on one of lectures or seminars issues that were realised during the Summer School of Classical Studies whose main topic changes every year.
