Course content
|
Lectures: 1-2nd Basic methods in Archaeozoology - anatomical determination of bones, determination of bones according to species, determination of age according to dentition state and postcranial skeleton. 3-10th Osteology of each animal species, which is excavated during archaeological research. 11-13th Forms of documentation and excavation of animal skeletons in archaeological research, possibilities of using this result for reconstruction form of prehistorical people. Seminars and exercises 1-13th Example of osteological material and work with its - determination and description.

Learning outcomes
|
Student are familiar with archeozoological basis and its using in practice. Students are learned during practical lessons determination and description of animal species, which is excavated during archaeological researches.
Practical knowledge of description, dating, determination of animal osteological material.

Basic overview in animal biology (knowledge from basic or high school).

Student performance, Written exam
(1) Excursion: 39 hours = 1,5 credits; (2) Prepare to atestation: 12,5 hours = 0,5 credit.
