Developing plan of (Czech) landscape. History written by the river. 6. Wilderness and "cultural" landscape. Treasure of forest. 7. Up and down of colonisation and urbanisation 8. Communication network. Footpaths to highways. 9. Landscape and climate changes. 10. Landscape and memory. Traces of human activity in landscape. 11. Memory of cultural landscape: model of Moravia. 12. Landscape as (national) treasure and (spiritual) heritage. 13. Landscape as image. 14. Excursion: teaching by landscape.

Learning outcomes
|
The goalof course is introduction to scientific interest in memory of Cultural Landscape as a part of cultural heritage. Sustainability and unsustainability of this heritage belong betweens priorities of the society. The course is divided into three blocks. First one is focused on a definition of subject of the courseand global attitudes of civilisations with special attention to Western civilization (1 3).Second block concentrates on changes of landscape, which will be ilustrated on situation of Central Europe/ Czech Crown/ Czech Lands (4 10). Third block is focused on the model landscape of Moravia with special attention on the cultural memory of landscape. Part of course is an excursion to selected environmental destinations (Malá Haná, Moravské Slovácko etc.). Problematics deals with relation of human and environmental space during development of Modern Era.
Proficiency in the problematics.

Prerequisites

Proficiency in Medieval and Early Modern history is necessary for completion of the course.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance
Attendance in classes, including excursions (24 hours=1 credit); study of informational sources, preparation on colloquium (50 hours= 2 credits)
