Course content
Der Ackermann aus Böhmen und Tkadleček (Das Weberlein) Literaturseminar/ Workshop (Olmütz-Oldenburg) Man findet kaum ein Zeitalter, in dem der Mensch häufiger konfrontiert wäre mit dem Tod, als im Mittelalter. Die Epidemien, Kriege sowie die furchtbaren hygienischen Bedingungen führten dazu, dass die Lebenserwartung bei ca. 30 Jahren lag. Der Ackermann des Johannes von Tepl (um 1400) ist ein faszinierendes Streitgespräch, in dem der personifizierte Tod dessen Grausamkeit legitimieren soll. Er sei verantwortlich für den Verlust der geliebten Frau. Im dynamischen Dialog präsentiert sich der Tod nicht nur als ein vehementer Verteidiger dessen Aufgabe, sondern auch als ein ausgezeichneter Kenner mittelalterlicher Weltanschauung, der den Ackermann bzw. den Leser belehrt. Der alttschechische Tkadleček wird im Seminar behandelt, weil der Text auffallende Berührungspunkte aufweist. Das Seminar ist als 'Blockveranstaltung' vorgesehen (freitags). Ein gemeinsamer Workshop mit der Uni Oldenburg ist geplant. Extra-credits für die Teilnahme an der Exkursion in Prag. Neue Texte, neue Erfahrungen, viel Spaß!

Learning outcomes
Interpretation of texts of a specific period, genre, writer, or on a particular subject or topic.
Students will gain insight into literature and literary criticism in selected periods as well as knowledge on topics dealt with in German language literature. A special emphasis is laid on the knowledge of the historical and cultural-historical context. The resulting competence also consists in an independent interpretation of a literary text and its examination in the literary historical as well as general historical, aesthetical, sociological context and in a comparative relation to the literature of the student's mother tongue/or the second subject.
Prerequisites
The seminar is intended for all students of the Palacký University. ALL COURSES ARE TAUGHT IN GERMAN LANGUAGE!

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary), Didactic Test

Requirements for completion of the seminars will be specified by the individual tutors at the beginning of the course.
