| Course content |
|
The goal of the visiting professors' lectures is to introduce students to current international trends and modern methodological approaches in linguistics through lectures by international experts. Example: Corpora, Annotations, Statistical Methods výuka prof. Dr. Vahram Atayan This course covers linguistic research methods using authentic texts. In the first section, general methodological issues in linguistic research and the analysis of quantitative data will be discussed. In the second part, a brief overview of existing corpora of German will be provided, and working with word statistics programs will be discussed. Finally, in the third part of the course, annotation-based methods will be presented using smaller corpora that can be analyzed manually, along with the appropriate statistical methods and procedures.

This course is intended for students in German studies programs as well as other interested students at Palacký University. Knowledge of German at approximately the B1-B2 level is required.
