Motto: "Alle natürlichen Sprachen befinden sich in ständigem Wandel." Damaris Nübling Linguistic lectures focus on various topics. Individual lectures provide an overview of various methods of linguistic analysis, clarify the substance of modern linguistic trends, introduce theoretical problems of individual linguistic disciplines or expand the knowledge of the problems of individual linguistic disciplines, demonstrating the linguistic methods of work using specific examples and providing an insight into various fields of linguistics.
Learners will gain basic information about the variability of language, be able to define external and internal factors of language change, be able to present a hypothetical Indo-European proto-language, describe changes in Germanic languages and be able to present the different developmental stages of German. They will also be able to explain the basic changes in the language - syllabic shifts, changes in morphology, syntax and lexicology.
