Learning outcomes
The aim of the seminar is to present information about the development of German in the Romantic period, the period of Classicism and in the time of the advancement of the middle-class and realism. In addition to the characteristics of extra-lingual phenomena, the seminar will focus on the linguistic specifics of the given period and on practical analysis of texts from that time.
The seminar contributes mainly to the provision of information on basic tendencies in the development of German language in the 18th and the 19th century and analysis of characteristic written samples historical texts from the 18th and 19th century, including the ability to use Kurrent and Schwabacher.
Prerequisites
active knowledge of German language at the C2 level (the course is held in German), knowledge of basic terminology in the field of linguistics and knowledge of the basic context of the development of German language from the Germanic period to the New High German period

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

successful mastering of the required curriculum in the form an exam, analysis of a historical text
