1. Students apply for participation in a foreign project or a project with international participation. 2. The specific method of participation in the project is specified before enrolment in the course; it outlines the activities that students will undertake in the project and the outcomes to which the project is directed. 3. Doctoral students perform (partial) independent tasks given by the project, prepare outputs for an international audience, present results in an international forum. 4. The course is recognised after the defence of the completed project or after outputs such as Jimp1, Jimp2, Jsc or Jost-Cciz have been accepted for publication or presented at an international conference; feedback on participation in the project is complemented by an evaluation interview with the course supervisor.

Participation in an international project enhances students' theoretical, organisational and practical skills in research and its applications. It presupposes direct and active participation in a scientific project involving (exclusively or among others) foreign institutions and foreign researchers. The work will include a stay at a foreign institution (e.g. project workshop, short internship, etc.) or ongoing communication with foreign partners. The outputs of such a project must be published or presented abroad. The course therefore usually complements foreign language outputs (e.g. presentations at international conferences, foreign language publications in journals or monographs, etc.). The suitability of the submitted project in relation to the dissertation is assessed and recommended by the supervisor or the course supervisor.
Participation in the project strengthens and broadens students' research skills. The student gains experience in the organization of a scientific project, its planning, implementation and dissemination of results. It strengthens their presentation skills, all in a foreign language.
