Lectures: Construction fundaments of the maps Contents and content of the map Content and load of the maps Cartographic thematic methods Map language, keys and legends Colour in the maps Labellings Cartographic generalization Publishing maps on the Internet The exercise is focused on creating thematic maps with ecological content and ways of using maps.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the one-semester course of cartography focused on the topics necessary for the study, work and research of ecologists is to equip the student with knowledge and skills in the map-making and map-use, especially with thematic cartographic methods used in ecology and related fields.

Prerequisites

The one-semester course of cartography focuses on the topics which are essential for the study, work and research of ecologists. The main emphasis is given on the map-making as well as their use, mainly on thematic methods used in ecology and related fields.
