Course content
Course is aimed at the following issues: fundamental knowledge of the universe, solar system and celestial mechanics, figure of the Earth and its consequences, weight of the Earth and its consequences, fundamentals of orientation on the Earth and in the sky (geographic and astronomic coordinates, atmospheric refraction and extinction, sky topography), time and calendar, movements of celestial bodies, rotation of the Earth and its consequences, movements of the Earth's axis, circulation of the Earth around the Sun and its consequences, tidal phenomena, seismic model of inner structure of the Earth, gravimetric and magnetic fields of the Earth.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students into the fundamentals of planetary geography.
Recall basic terms and concepts used in planetary geography.
Prerequisites
Knowledge within the scope of secondary-school subjects of geography, mathematics and physics.

Credit requirements: active participation in the tutorials, elaboration of assigned tasks and passing the final writen test. Examination requirements: Knowledge within the scope of lectures, tutorials and assigned literature.
