Course content
The course focuses on geographical analysis of armed conflicts, exploring their origins and current status, including global and regional perspectives, identifying key problem areas and features, and examining strategies for conflict resolution. During seminars, students write essays and present findings concerning specific conflict regions, covering characteristics of the conflicting parties, international community attitudes, existing resolution strategies, barriers to resolution, geographical context, conflict development, and relevant data sources.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarise students with current armed conflicts around the world and introduce them to basic methods of analysing the origins and development of these conflicts.

Preparation of a series of seminar papers focusing on the analysis of specific aspects of a chosen armed conflict. Presentation of certain aspects of a chosen armed conflict.
