Course content
Emphasis will be put on the Central European space (particularly Czech lands), in case of a need the discussed issue will be rooted in the world context. Students will be acquainted with social, economic, political and environmental factors, trends and contexts influencing historical geographical image of an area and its spatial organization and differentiation since the early Middle ages until present. We will also deal with issues such as a source base of the historical geography, a development of administration, population or landscape.

Lecture
  • Preparation for the Exam - 30 hours per semester
  • Attendace - 20 hours per semester
  • Semestral Work - 40 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course will introduce the historical geography as a scientific field (development of the discipline, subject, basic concepts and directions).
Recall basic terms and concepts of historical geography.
Prerequisites
Knowledge within the scope of compulsory subjects that precede this subject in the study plan.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Knowledge in range of lectures and literature. Compulsory participation in seminars (2 absences are possible) Elaboration of given practical tasks.
