Course content
Subject deals with: remote sensing and geographic information systems; raster versus vector data and their sources; conception of remote sensing and its foundations (resources of radiation, its interactions with surface and atmosphere, ways of acquiring data and their interpretation, referential data); multispectral, thermal and hyperspectral data; satellites in research of landscape operating in optical part of spectrum (history, programmes); satellites in research of landscape operating in microwave part of spectrum (history, programmes); viewing of digital data of remote sensing (rectification, contrast, spatial manipulation with data, classification, integration with vector data and integration of remote sensing into GIS); software means for work with remote sensing data; programme viewing the Earth and its natural environment; application of remote sensing data in geography and study of environment.

Learning outcomes
The goal of discipline is to give survey of basic knowledge and principles acquire, processing and use of remotely sensed in geosciences.
Recall basic terms and concepts used in remote sensing.
Prerequisites
Knowledge within the scope of compulsory subjects that precede this subject in the study plan.

Written exam

Colloquium has written form, 60% of points in written test.
