Course content
|
The concept of metaphysics; Aristotle's metaphysics as the science concerning being; types of beings and existence: reality, possibility, beings of reason; categories; particular and universal, the problem of universals: Plato's metaphysics, various interpratation of Aristotle's doctrine on universals; Aristotle's metaphysics as the science of the First cause: God and metaphysics; Aristotle's metaphysics as the science concerning first principles; self-evident principles: the principle of non-contradiction, Leibniz law, the principle of sufficient reason, the principle of causation.

Introducing students into main problems of metaphysics with special emphasis on theological application.
The students gain understanding of the fundamental concepts, theses and problems of the discipline in view of the application in theology.
