This course explores philosophical traditions from both Western and Eastern cultures to gain insight into different perspectives on life. Students will read and discuss short selections from each tradition, with particular attention to Hinduism, Daoism, Sufism, and existentialism. Attendance: a maximum of two absences is allowed to accommodate for personal emergencies. In case of absence, the student should be prepared for the next lesson regardless. Reading the required texts and being prepared for discussion. Active participation in class. Preparation of a paper based on the selected text. |
