Course content
1. philosophical conceptions in Dante´s Divine Comedy 2. Comenius´s drama Diogenes Kynic "alive again" in the context of so called neokynism (and the interpretation of this phenomenon in the work of P.Sloterdijk) 3. drama, novel, poetry and philosophy in the 18th and 19th century (Fielding, Goethe, Schiller, G. Büchner, Lermontov, Puškin a Madah) 4. Confrontation of philosophy and the trends in the art in the period of so called first and second Czechoslovakia (mainly neotomism and neomarxism - poetism and surrealism)

Learning outcomes
This semestral course focuses on and analyzes the analogies and mutual interactions between the development of thought and the works of art from the period of ancient times to modern times. The basic trends in the formation of the main philosophical systems are related to the key events in the history of painting, plastic art, architecture, poetry, novel and drama.
Get an overview of the relationship between philosophy and art.
