Course content
The lectures are aimed on the main physical-chemical methods of solid-state substances study. In the course of the lectures the attention will be devoted to thermography, magnetochemistry, crystallographic methods, microscopic methods, Mossbauer spectroscopy, methods of size distribution study, and viscoelastic properties of the substances 1. Optical Microscopy 2. Electron Microscopy 3. AFM - Atomic Force Microscopy 4. Crystals, types of crystallographic structures, examples of stereochemistry of the chosen substances 5. X-Ray analysis - monocrystallic and powder methods 6. Methods of Thermic Analysis 7. Magnetochemistry (theoretical introduction, basic terms and definitions, quantities; paramagnetism, diamagnetism and their chemical interpretations; measurements of magnetic susceptibility) 8. Mossbauer spectroscopy 9. Study of surface energy of solid state substances 10. Methods of size distribution study 11. Excursion - introduction into instrumental techniques
