Course content
|
Definition of the field of rehabilitation, history and basic concepts, structure of healthcare in the Czech Republic, nursing team, Code of Medical Ethics. Pain, hospitalism, sleeping of patients, diet, drug administration. Monitoring of physiological functions. Medical documentation. Complications and secondary changes from immobility and their prevention, pressure ulcers. Introduction to positioning (principles, types, aids). Positioning of patients in traumatology, surgery, orthopedics, cardiac surgery. Positioning in neurology (after stroke). Patient mobility in bed, verticalization of patient. Preparation for standing and walking, walking with crutches, using a wheelchair. Repetition of positioning, mobility, verticalization of patient, walking and using a wheelchair.

Learning outcomes
|
This course informs students about the content of remedial nursing, about the structure and organization of medical system and medical staff.
Student is able to use gained knowledge in everyday life - for example cariing for family members.
