Course content |
Introduction to drug discovery. Interaction of drugs with molecular targets. Fate of drugs in the body - absorbtion, distribution, excretion. Fate of drugs in the body - metabolism. Prodrugs. Identification and optimization of active compounds. Natural compounds as drugs and inspiration. Biotechnology in drug development and production (antibodies, aptamers, siRNA, CRISPR-Cas, stem cells ...). Farmacogenomics. Clinical trials. Drug approval. Case studies.
