Learning outcomes

Understanding the principles of toxic action: Describing how xenobiotics affect the human body at the molecular, cellular, organ, and systemic levels. Knowledge of the fate of substances in the body: Explaining the fundamental principles of what happens to xenobiotics within the organism. Handling dosage and poison classification: Analyzing the dose-response relationship and understanding poison classification systems. Familiarity with experimental toxicology methods: Knowing and describing the methods used in toxicological research. Characterization of significant toxic substances: Recognizing and describing inorganic poisons, volatile organic compounds, narcotic and psychotropic substances, selected pharmaceuticals, and plant or animal toxins. Application of analytical approaches: Mastering the overview of analytical methods in toxicology and the principles of sample processing in trace analysis.
