The aim of this course is to methodologically expand research on the basis of an approved research topic to include contemporary theoretical, methodological and paradigmatic developments in the sciences of art and material culture. The student compiles the above literature into dissertation chapters and submits these to the supervisor and dissertation committee members on a regular basis. The student will complete the course in the 4th semester of study according to his/her specialization. The main aim is to explain systematically and clearly the relevance of the topic to the wider theoretical debate in the arts and cultural sciences so that the student can engage in the global academic debate.
