The course aims to equip students with appropriate academic vocabulary, grammar and stylistic conventions to improve their academic writing and presentation style. Special attention is paid to the differences between formal and informal styles of English. The course reiterates the contentions of academic argumentations with an emphasis on student's ability to present their own research. Students produce authentic academic texts in a variety of formats (paper, dissertation chapter) of their own work and receive comments from the instructor and peers.
