In each lesson there will be a debate on the assigned theoretical texts, which students will study in advance.

Learning outcomes
|
Teacher: Mgr. Mgr. Lukáš Kubina, Ph.D. The aim of the course is to deepen the students' ability to understand the theoretical text. The emphasis will be on a thorough and critical reading of selected Czech and foreign literature in the field of theatre theory. Students will be encouraged to be able to independently identify the basic thesis of individual texts, their background, acquire professional terminology and place individual studies in a broader context.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to: - understand a theoretical text and identify its basic premises, and correctly use professional terminology, - debate the texts in a professional discussion, - place individual texts in the broader context of theoretical reflection on the performing arts.

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral exam, Student performance
Thorough preparation for the seminar consisting of reading the assigned literature and completing interim assignments. Attendance at seminars (min. 75%), active discussion in class, Final examination in the form of a debate.
