Learning outcomes
MgA. Otto Kauppinen, Ph.D. (otto.kauppinen@seznam.cz) The course introduces students to selected areas of Czech professional theatre after 2000, with a focus on different approaches to understanding its political dimension. The theatre-studies framework of the course is expanded through selected texts from art theory, which serve as a lens for examining the phenomenon of spectatorship and audience participation. Through the study of theoretical texts and the analysis of specific productions and performative projects, students acquire tools for the critical reflection of contemporary performative art in both Czech and international contexts. The course develops students' ability to interpret academic texts in Czech and English and supports the formulation of independent critical positions.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: ? analyse contemporary Czech political and participatory theatre ? work with concepts of politicality, participation, immersion, and spectatorship ? critically interpret theoretical texts ? relate theoretical concepts to their own research or field of study ? formulate and present their own critical positions in written and oral form
