In this lecture we will be looking at the relation between experimental science and drama in the 1660´s. I will focus on writings from the founding members of the Royal Society of London and show that they were influenced by the French discourses on the new theatre. We will also be reading plays that have distinctive scientific elements. The ultimate question is: can we compare the rules of a successful scientific performance with those of a good play? Lecture: The Theatre of Knowledge in Restoration England.
Po absolutoriu tohoto předmětu student: - umí popsat nejdůležitější tendence vývoje moderního a postmoderního divadla, - dokáže vyjmenovat nejdůležitější představitele jednotlivých směrů, - definuje důležité mezníky ve vývoji nonverbálního a tanečního divadla, - umí zařadit současné divadelní dění do kontextu vývoje posledních 30 let.
