Course content
|
The course is focused on contemporary, mainly postmedia audiovisual production (moving images, videoclip, internet art, new media, video essay) and its theoretical reflection in interdisciplinary dialogue with audiovisual studies, media theory and cultural analysis. The main accent is focused on mutual reflection between theoretical concepts at one side and cultural objects on the other side.

Learning outcomes
|
The goal of the course is as follows: 1) to introduce contemporary trends in audiovision as well as its theoretical reflection, 2) to map and offer usefull interdisciplinary concepts comming from audiovisual studies, media theory and cultural analysis, 3) to improve analytical and argumentative skills, to cultivate critical thinking and conceptual thinking abilities.

Assessment methods and criteria
|

mandatory reading and watching mandatory audiovisual material regular writing of short synopsis' (discussion papers) to the topic of seminars oral presentation, analysis and discussion of chosen cultural object and academic text active discussion with course participants and the lecturer attendance (min. 75%)
