Výstupy z učení

The course traces the development and current trends of so-called quality television. The aesthetic and evaluative concept of high-production television has appeared in television landscapes since the 1980s. In terms of the evolution of this category, however, it has undergone considerable change. The seminar therefore focuses on both the early forms of these television programmes and the current forms. The course takes into account not only the textual characteristics of this television production, but also highlights the industrial, marketing and institutional-technological parameters that influence quality TV.
Students will learn to critically view and analyze current and historical manifestations of quality television.

active participation in group discussions mandatory presence (2 missed classes max.) mandatory list of screenings oral presentation of chosen case study (15 minutes tops) a proposition of branding strategy plan of chosen quality TV program (you need to think of the brand of the station, creators, target audience, theme of the program), the plan will include examples of specific brand content (meaning not the plan and description but the actual content, such as graphic of audiovisual material complementing written strategy defending the specific strategies, goals and target audiences of the branding campaign) deadline for the campaign (uploaded to moodle) - 8. 1. 2023 latest best examples of branding campaign will be presented in theatre and film studies cloud file, restricted access
