Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook)
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to enable students to develop their ability to reflect on a theatre performance in writing, in close collaboration with the Divá Báze editors, and to publish on this platform. The development of critical skills is also done through the actual reading of theatre reviews and critiques.
The student is able to - express his/her own critical judgement of a performance based on analysis, discuss and defend his/her opinions with professionally formulated arguments, - create a structured critical text analysing a contemporary theatre artefact. He or she can critically assess and confront individual theatrical events and place them in a broader context of style, genre or type. He or she has the competence to work independently as a critic in print and electronic media.
Prerequisites
An interest in written reflection on theatre and a willingness to improve this competence.
