Course content
Penal Law General standards for prosecuting offenders, penal law and penal precepts, persons subject to penal sanctions, types of penalties in Canon Law, their application and cessation, penalties for particular criminal offences. Canonical Procedure Trials in general: the competent forum, different grades and kinds of tribunals, the discipline to be observed in tribunal, the parties in a case, actions and exceptions. Contentious trial in general and the special processes: marriage processes, the penal process. The method of proceeding in administrative recourse and in the removal or transfer of pastors. Process of beatify.

Learning outcomes
Penal Law General standards for prosecuting offenders, penal law and penal precepts, persons subject to penal sanctions, types of penalties in Canon Law, their application and cessation, penalties for particular criminal offences. Canonical Procedure Trials in general: competence, grades and types of tribunals, parties to action, actions and objections. Contentious trial and its course. Certain special procedures: matrimonial procedures, penal procedures. Administrative procedures, administrative recourse, removal and transfer of pastors.
Students use the acquired knowledge in their pastoral service.
Prerequisites
To pass objects Theological Principals and General Norms and Law of Sacraments and Sacramentals (including Marriage Law).

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Pass examination proving orientation in the dealt problems.
