Course content
Main topics of the lectures: 1. The social and legal protection of children. Characteristics, sources of legal regulation 2. The child in the system of the social and legal protection of children. 3. The measures of social - legal protection of children. 4. The facilities of social and legal protection of children. 5. The child and parental conflict. 6. The child and criminal phenomena 7. Childern in foster care. 8. The child as a participant in judicial and administrative proceedings.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to provide students with knowledge enabling them to acquire a basic orientation in the issue of social and legal protection of children de lege lata, to acquire basic knowledge in the field, to orient themselves in the legal regulation in dealing with specific situations and to use their skills acquired in the field of pedagogy, psychology and social work. By combining these skills, he/she can gain a broader insight into the possibilities of resolving conflict situations and pathologies that arise in the context of normal family coexistence, in the school team and in the child's leisure time, and, where appropriate, offer a solution that also takes into account the legal interests of the individual persons involved, especially the interests of the child. In the course of the training, attention will be paid not only to issues typically related to the age of the child, but also to issues typical of the age of adolescents approaching the age of majority. In the designation of the individual topics of the lectures and seminars, a uniform designation for the subject "child" is used.
Students are oriented in the legal regulation and apply the acquired knowledge in their activities with children and youth.
Prerequisites
The course has no prerequisites. However, knowledge of the topics taught in the course Family Law for the Social and Legal Protection of Children ( KCP/KSRPS, KCP/PSRPS) as well as practical application of the acquired knowledge from the course is presumed.

Assessment methods and criteria

Solving practical examples in seminars Written analysis of a court hearing attended. Each student will attend a court hearing of his/her own choice in a family court of first instance. Exam -oral.
