Course content
Fundamentals of morphology and sentence construction in the Sahidic dialect of the Coptic language

Lecture, Projection (static, dynamic)
  • Homework for Teaching - 14 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
To become acquainted with the history and importance of Coptic language, with the basic morphology and syntax of its oldest standard form, i.e. Sahidic dialect.
The ability to understand classical Coptic texts, including some non-standard texts of Nag-Hammadi (the Coptic Gospel of Thomas).

Didactic Test

To be able to translate simple Coptic sentences in a short test.
