Course content
Introduction to the prophetic and wisdom literature of the Old Testament: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, the 12, Daniel, Baruch, Proverbs, Qohelet, Job, Sirach, Book of Wisdom, Psalms, Lamentations, Song of Songs.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture
  • Attendace - 12 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Basic orientation in the Old Testament prophetic and wisdom literature. Ability to perceive the specific character of individual books.
Ability to describe historical background and structure of particular Old Testament books. Ability to express the basic message of each prophetic and wisdom book.
Prerequisites
Mastering the subject matter of the General Introduction to Holy Scripture. Orientation in biblical history.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Theoretical knowledge enabling the student to answer correctly the questions published by the teacher at the beginning of the semester. Ability to draw individual statements directly from the biblical text.
