Course content

The New Testament Concept. History of the New Testament Canon. The New Testament text: the main Greek manuscripts; old translations; text criticism. Introduction to the political and religious background of the New Testament era. Detailed introduction to all New Testament books: circumstances of origin, literary characteristics, structure, content, theology.

Learning outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to understand not only the circumstances of the origin of individual books of the New Testament, but also to describe their literary and theological character on the basis of acquired knowledge.
After completing the course, you will be able - to describe the history of the formation of the New Testament canon and the transmitting and preservation of the New Testament text, - to clarify the circumstances of the origin of individual New Testament books, - to characterize the literary and theological character of the New Testament books.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam
To complete the course, students must complete the study tasks within the framework of the study support at least for the minimum number of points and pass an oral exam.
