During the seminar, the student will prepare a presentation presenting the chosen bachelor's thesis (in progress), or a presentation about a scientific article on a topic close to the topic of the bachelor's thesis.

The seminar is primarily dedicated to practicing the presentation of bachelor's thesis in progress, checking and discussion. Possibly the presentation of a scientific publication relevant to the topic of the bachelor's thesis in the case of exception due to late registration of the topic. The seminar is also dedicated to the following areas: Scientific work (hypothesis, experimental planning, controls, preparation and execution of the experiment, reproduction of the experiment, objective interpretation and statistical evaluation of data), scientific ethics, plagiarism, retraction of publications. Public presentation of scientific data - congresses, conferences, symposia, workshops (e.g. Botanical Congress, Gordon and Keystone conferences). Publication of scientific data, the most important global publishers of scientific publications (e.g. Elsevier, Springer), books and journals, Rules for writing academic texts in English vs Czech language.

Seminar Work
Full participation at the seminars is required (maximum two absences may be tolerated for serious reasons and the participation may be substituted with additional work as decided by the teacher); the student is obliged to give presentations as shown in the annotation and actively participate in the discussion on topics of the seminar. |
