Course content
|
1) Brief introduction focused on motivation. 2) The studying system at the Faculty of Science, a division of departments. 3) Presentation of individual departments I 4) Presentation of individual departments II 5) Presentation of individual departments III 6) Presentation of individual departments IV 7) Conclusion of previous presentations. Overview of possible bachelor thesis themes - discussion. 8) How to present data? - rules for making a posters. Distribution of topics for final poster-session. 9) Poster-session with discussion I 10) Poster-session with discussion II 11) Poster-session with discussion III 12) Final discussion and evaluation of the first semester. Students will prepare either individually or in the small groups a poster on selected topic in the field of biochemistry, biotechnology or genetic engineering. During the three seminars at the end of the semester, students will present posters and discus them with teacher and colleagues.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the seminar is to introduce new students and give them informations about the Department of Biochemistry and studying at the Faculty of Science. Particular research centers will be introduced and students will be motivated to make a pre-selection for their future focus.
