Learning outcomes |
A practically oriented seminar based on the current needs of the activities of the Department of Czech Studies. It will be mainly practical work with the collected linguistic material: specific tasks, their nature, scope, etc. will be specified at the introductory seminar (participation in the first seminar is therefore important). All necessary materials, handouts and tools will be recommended or provided as needed during the seminar. Three projects are currently under construction within the framework of these activities: (1) the European DraCor database of theatre plays (https://dracor.org/); (2) the Anophone Language Database (https://anophone.evetech.cz/) - an e-learning database for speech recognition aimed at developing an adaptable mobile application for teaching Czech to foreigners (L2 learning); and (3) the Corpus of Czech essays from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
