Learning outcomes
The seminar is focused on the oldest Slavonic script called Glagolitic. It contains an introduction to the Glagolitic paleography, reading, and interpretation of Glagolitic manuscripts from the oldest period of the Slavonic literature. The objects of analyses will be the manuscripts of Old Church Slavonic canon, especially those which are connected with the Czech area with their origin, i. e. with the Great Moravian or Czech Church Slavonic period. Manuscripts, written with the semi-rounded and rounded Glagolitic, which students have known only in the transliteration to Cyrillic during their former studies, will be enlarged with texts of the younger periods, especially of the Croatian Glagolitic recension.
