Course content
Analysis of the text focuses on the following phenomena: 1. Czech orthographic systems in 14th and 15th century. 2. Transliteration and transcription Old Czech texts. 3. Phonetics - the impact of the Indo-European and Proto-Slavonic changes in old Czech. 4. Phonology - Changes in Czech 10th - 15th century. 5. Morphology - Old Bohemian declination. 6. Morphology - Old Czech verb forms. 7. Adverbs in Old Czech. 8. Prepositions, conjunctions and particles in Old Czech. 9. Expressing sentence relationships in Old Czech. 10. Semantic differences in vocabulary of New and Old Czech.

Learning outcomes
The seminar is focused on philological analysis of the selected Czech texts of the 14th and 15th century
Thorough orientation in orthography, phonetics, morphology and lexical system of Czech 14th - 15th century. Comprehensive philological analysis of the old Czech texts; grounding for editing old Czech texts.
Prerequisites
It is advantageous to undertake a lecture or seminar historical grammar of Czech.

Assessment methods and criteria
Seminar Work

The credit: written work - philological analysis of the Old Czech snippet of text, individual reading and philological analysis of Old Czech text.
