Course content
1. Introduction into the study of the discipline 2. Essential problematic areas of Indo-European (ide.) and proto-Slavonic (psl.) development 3. Indo-European language family; ablaut 4. Differentiation of ide., Baltic-Slavonic language area 5. Basic tendencies in the psl. development 6. ?The open syllables law?, nasal formation 7. Monophtongization of diphthongs, prothetic phenomena 8. Palatalization of velars 9. Vowel change prior to yotation 10. Prosodic devices and their development 11. Differentiation of Slavonic proto-language ? phonetic and morphological plan 12. Slavonic language unity disintegration

Learning outcomes
The slavonic languages are described from a diachronic view, the attention is paid to the differentiation of the indo-european language area, selection of the proto-slavonic language and especially to the following development of them.
knowledge of phonetic and morphological development in proto-Slavonic, Old Church Slavonic and proto-Czech
Prerequisites
knowledge of phonetics and phonology, especially special terminology
