Obsah předmětu
|
Work in the seminar will start with the analysis of authentic texts belonging to different functional styles. Students will be lead to distinguish specific features of texts of various discourses with respect to all circumstances of communicative situation that influence final version of the text, such as author's intention, respect to the addressee, official or private character of communication, specific communication channel, etc. Students will be shown fundamental differences between standard Czech and other variants of the Czech language, differences between written and spoken language code will be specified in detail. Besides its receptive part, the seminar will also have its productive section. Students will first be informed of the most important rules of forming common stylistic forms, such as private and official letter, application, warranty claim, invitation to official and private events, congratulation, scholarly texts (article, paper, presentation). Practical training with the aim of mastering the above mentioned styles will follow.

|
This course focuses on acquiring and analysing Czech for specific purposes (Language for Specific Purposes - LSP) in various professional and academic contexts. Students become familiar with the characteristics of specialized, administrative, academic, and media styles, and learn how to effectively produce and interpret specialized texts in Czech. The course emphasizes the development of communicative competence in situations typical of academic and professional practice, taking into account the specific needs of international students.
By the end of the course, students will: understand the principles of Czech for specific purposes, acquire the basic features of specialized, administrative, and academic styles, be able to analyse specialized texts in terms of lexis, syntax, and pragmatics, develop the ability to produce specialized texts (e.g. abstract, academic paper, CV), gain competencies for effective communication in professional contexts, be able to adapt language use according to communicative situations and target audiences.

|
Students are able to use Czech language at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
