Learning outcomes
|
Work in the seminar will focus on the analysis of authentic texts of various styles. Students will be encouraged to recognize the basic function of the text; given the prevailing function, they will assess the suitability of the means of expression used and, if necessary, to replace them with adequate means. At first, texts of simple and publicistic style will be analyzed, basic genres, compositional rules and style requirements will be recalled. The use of the lexicon will follow, the syntactic construction of the testimonies (use of the means of communication, the degree of complexity of the hierarchy, the occurrence of active and passive structures, the used word order and the textbook etc.), morphological norms etc.
