Seminars: 1. Concept, origin and development of literature for children and youth; its inclusion in literature and the question of genre structure 2. Prose for youth and prose with child hero 3. Myths and legends in literary adaptations for children and youth 4. Poetry for children 5. Fairy tale theory; a folk tale and its adaptation 6. Author's fairy tale 7. Comics for children and youth 8. Outline of the Development of Literature for Children and Youth in World Literature 9. Contemporary Czech literature for children and youth - author's book 10. Significant authors of fiction 11. Significant authors of the non-fiction for Children and Youth 12. Literature for children and youth in the current book market

Learning outcomes
The aim of the seminar is to familiarize the participants with the theory of literature for children and youth and with significant or remarkable titles in the field of literature for children and youth, which originated in the Czech Republic, especially after 1989.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: - identify major periods and trends in Czech literature for children and youth - explain the role of children's literature in Czech culture and society - analyze literary texts intended for children/youth readers - recognize key authors and representative literary works
