Course content |
1. Building a general language skills in partikulary the grammar competence. 2. Building of lexical competence focused on terminology in the field. 3. Professional creative writing: focused on the independent creation of a professional text. The acquisition of adequate grammar, orthographic and stylistic device will be accentuated. 4. Professional and conference communication: the creation of an independent spoken texts and the acquisition of orthofonic as well as culture of speech will be accentuated.

Learning outcomes |
The course is designed for foreign students of doctoral programs at Palacký University. The building of communication skills in accordance with the individual (professional) needs of students is accentuated. In cooperation with listeners field departments will be developed in particular knowledge of field terminology, ability to reception and production of scientific texts and the ability oral to present results of their work. The aim of the course is to reach the level B2 in general communication skills at least the level C1 in their professional area. The course will be taught in blocks and will accentuate the independent work of students.
The students will be able to understand professional texts (in their field). The students will be able to independently create a spoken and a written text, which will present the results of their professional activities. |

Intermediate knowledge of the Czech language (level B1), elementary knowledge of the linguistic terminology.

1. To participate active in the teaching blocks. 2. To writte a professional text (5 pages). 3. To simulate a spoken conference treatise (15 minutes). |
