Course content
|
1. Introduction, history of vaccination, basic terms from epidemiology and infectology. 2. Basic immune mechanisms used in anti-infection immunity. 3. Types and composition of vaccines. Polyvalent and combined vaccines. Pharmaceutical forms of vaccines. 4. Vaccine production technology I- attenuated and inactivated vaccines. 5. Technology of vaccine production (li - subunit vaccines (split, polysaccharide) and toxoids). 6. Technology of production of vaccines Ill-recombinant vaccines, production and purification of recombinant proteins). 7. IV vaccine production technology - gene vaccines - RNA and DNA. 8. Technology of vaccine production V - recombinant viruses replication defective and attenuated, mucosal vaccines. 9. Immunogenicity and safety testing I - clinical and preclinical testing, effectiveness tests on an animal model, determination of specific antibodies in-vitro, tests for the presence of contaminants). 10. Immunogenicity and safety testing - viral neutralization tests, cellular immunity tests - ELISPOT, lymphocyte activation. 11. Legislative standards on vaccination (Laws No. 258/2000 Coll., No. 378/2007 Coll. and No. 48/1997 Coll., Decree No. 537/2006 Coll.), registration and registration authorities, adverse effects vaccines and their monitoring. 12. News in the field, discussion, final test.

|
An introduction to both classic and state-of-the-art approaches of vaccine production technologies.
Getting to know the basic terms and principles associated with the production and use of vaccines. Acquaintance with classic and modern vaccine production technologies.
