Course content
|
Presentation of the Department of Biochemistry, introduction to the bachelor's study program in Biochemistry with an emphasis on key subjects. Brief repetition of selected topics of high school chemistry with an emphasis on the active involvement of students. Theoretical preparation for the creation of professional presentations in the PowerPoint program, independent preparation of a presentation on a professional topic in the field of biochemistry of your own choice and an oral presentation. Active student participation in discussions, which always follow individual presentations, in the form of asking and answering questions.

Obtaining basic information about the Department of Biochemistry and the study of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Biochemistry UPOL. Brief repetition of high school biochemistry with an emphasis on the active involvement of the student. Enhancing student ability: ? create a presentation (eg in PowerPoint); ? clearly present a professional topic of your own choice (focused on issues thematically connected to biochemistry); ? participate in a discussion on a professional topic.
Searching for information, its clear processing and presentation. Increased competitiveness of graduates on the labor market, strengthening of self-confidence, independent thinking and the ability to engage in discussion.

For students of the 1st year of the bachelor's study program in bioinformatics.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Seminar Work
Conditions for granting credit: ? 100% participation in the seminar (possibility of replacing up to 2 absences due to serious reasons in the form of a seminar work on a given topic); ? preparation of a presentation on a professional topic in the field of biochemistry and its presentation; ? active participation in the discussion on the discussed topics.
