Course content
Introduction to scientific communication: scientific, professional, popular-scientific, popular communication; oral, written and non-verbal communication, individual and group communication. Rhetoric: phonetic and linguistic means, speaking exercises, technical means, temporal and psychological aspects, non-verbal communication and powerful intelligence, contact with the audience. Conference - oral presentation: planning and structure of the presentation, basic graphic rules, preparation and tools (PowerPoint, Canva, BioRender), preparation of your own presentation, most common mistakes and problems, speaking in the discussion. Conference - poster presentations: creation principles, layout preparation and graphic editing, work with text, graphs and colors, own poster presentation and discussion Abstract and annotation of scientific work: main principles of preparation and specifics of content, graphic abstract. Social media: use of social media in scientific communication, strengths and weaknesses of different types of social media. Artificial intelligence: using machine learning tools and large language models in scientific communication. Popularization: principles and tools of popularization of scientific projects and results

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to prepare student of Master program in Biochemistry to elaborate their diploma works and to prepare scientific presentation in forms of lectures and posters. The subject is focused to increasing student capabilities to present their results by oral and written means, and includes both theoretical introductions to scientific communication basics and tools and practical training of selected themes.
After completing the course, students are able to understand the principles of communication of scientific and research projects and their results, develop practical competence in oral and written presentations of results in various forms.
Prerequisites
Students are expected to have the knowledge and skills obtained from successful completion of Bachelor studies.
