Basic Computer Skills: hardware, Windows operating system, file manager, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint): text and data processing, presentation design, graphic formats and image processing, computer networks and the Internet, information resources (Google), AI.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: Understand the fundamental principles of computer operation and the function of individual hardware components. Outline the evolution of computer interfaces (from punched cards to modern Windows operating systems). Effectively utilize key features of file managers (e.g., Altap Salamander, Total Commander). Use core office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for text formatting, data analysis, and presentation design. Search, edit, and evaluate graphic files with regard to their technical parameters, print quality, and licensing constraints for reuse and modification (e.g., Creative Commons). Understand basic computer network architecture and its underlying principles. Apply advanced web search techniques and engines (e.g., Google) to efficiently locate and retrieve information.
